Red Wolf, born in Miami, Florida in 1954, knew from an early age that he would be an artist. He studied painting at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida. In 1974 he continued his studies in California, changing his major to psychology. During the next 10 years, he immersed himself in the therapeutic modalities of neo-Reichian, Gestalt and the Structural Integration work of Ida Rolf.

During the 1980’s, Wolf began to paint with a group of artists whose influences resulted in his commitment to become a serious artist. He studied with Stuart Linton who had apprenticed and shared studio space with Pablo Picasso after World War II in Paris.

Working on honeycomb aluminum, Wolf etches the subject into the surface of the material. Complex combinations of grinding ...
